Dr. Jennifer Jimenez Marana is a diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) practitioner, consultant, speaker, and educator.
With over 20 years of experience leading DEIB efforts across a variety of industries such as education, healthcare, and senior living, Dr. Jen has helped organizations create diversity strategic plans, develop employee resource groups, and initiate diversity committees.
While Dr. Jen has supported organizations at all points of their diversity journeys, she has demonstrated proven success at launching DEIB efforts at several organizations and integrating DEIB as part of their organizational culture.
Using her unique style of authentic engagement, Dr. Jen fosters a brave space for organizations as she delivers education, facilitates dialogue, and provides tools for sustainable success.
Despite an educational pedigree that includes a bachelor’s degree in Linguistics from the University of California, Santa Barbara; a master’s degree from the acclaimed Counseling and Personnel Services program at the University of Maryland, College Park; and a PhD in Education from Claremont Graduate University, Dr. Jen’s most proud accomplishment has been raising her children, poignantly blessed with her oldest having had spastic quadriplegia cerebral palsy.
This profound experience has deepened her empathy of others’ diverse lived journeys, and humanizes her commitment to teach and train others to better connect across different backgrounds.
While Dr. Jen finds great joy in her DEIB work, she also enjoys boxing, baking desserts, and spending time with her family.
